Arranged Abstraction. Definition by Example in Art Research
Thornquist, Clemens, 2012
Abstract
This work explores and introduces foundational research issues in art and design through examples related to body and dress. It does so in order to understand the theoretical levels of art as a practice where art is understood as the function of technê and mimesis in an Aristotelian sense.
As an alternative to applied research in art and design, e.g. through integrative studies of social science, the aim of the work is to present basic research problems and types of research results in art and design based on examples from fashion design relating to issues of body, dress and space.
